This year, a busy program of initiatives of various kinds is planned. First of all, throughout the month, the city’s shops will host a widespread exhibition of works by female artists titled “From Window to Window – Women’s Art.” The hope is that the language of art can stimulate reflection even among those who have never approached the issue.
The first event on the agenda is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 9:00 PM, when a meeting titled “The Archetypes of the Feminine” will be held at the BRARTE Association’s hall in Via Vittorio Emanuele II 148. The event is organized in collaboration with the Albedo Association, with Irene Allasia as the speaker.
In the afternoon of Friday, March 7, 2025, at 5:00 PM, the collective exhibition of over 20 local artists and the winners of the “Men” section, Riccardo Balestra, and the “Young” section, Melissa Costantino, from the fifth edition of the Biennale della Creatività – Wab, which took place last October, will be inaugurated at Palazzo Mathis. The exhibition, titled “The Rooms of Art,” will be open for free admission until March 30, 2025, with the following schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM; Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM; Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
The following day, Saturday, March 8, 2025 (International Women’s Day), the BRARTE Association’s headquarters will host several events starting at 5:30 PM: the women’s lottery “TU, always loved” by Mary Esposito, the monologue by Mara Tomatis titled “I Stopped Wanting,” and a fundraising event to support the social cooperative SVS Donna aiuta Donna. During the same day, at 11:00 AM, a delegation from the Bra Equal Opportunities Council will attend the inaugural ceremony of the red bench installed by the municipal administration of Monticello d’Alba in the Borgo area (at Via Stazione 4).
The program continues on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 9:00 PM, with a public discussion at the conference hall of the multipurpose center, organized in collaboration with the Toni Lucci Peace School and the Bra Families’ Council. Annalisa Spedicato (Mamma Network) will address the topic “The Value of Gender Equality for Sustainable Development.”
On March 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM, “The Story of an Ancient Freedom” will be held, a journey through time and memories with the reading of postcards and letters from 1924, curated by the artist Marta Valls. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the “Women’s Question” from different periods, analyzing changes and its evolution. The event will take place at the Brarte Hall in Via Vittorio Emanuele II 148.
On Saturday, March 22, 2025, there will be a double event: at 6:00 PM, the book by Sandra Busiello, “Io, una bambina” (“I, a Little Girl”), will be presented at the BRARTE Association’s headquarters. Then, at 9:00 PM, at the Giovanni Arpino Auditorium in Largo della Resistenza, a musical evening titled “D. Donna, Disco, Dance” will take place in collaboration with the “Noi come te” association and the “Easy Going” group. A fundraiser will be held to purchase a portable ultrasound machine to donate to the ASL CN2.
On Friday, March 28, 2025 (9:00 PM), the SS Trinità – Battuti Bianchi church will host an evening titled “Clizia, Volpe, Mosca: The Muses of Eugenio Montale,” curated by Professor Pier Paolo Faccio, with music by Matteo Ascheri and readings by Maura Boccato. The event is organized in collaboration with the associations “Noi come te” and “Mai + Sole.”
The events will conclude with a public appointment scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 9:00 PM at the Bper Auditorium, in Via Adolfo Sarti 8, titled “Freedom from Stereotypes.” During this event, recognition will be given to four women from the area who have successfully overcome the stereotypes that still influence our society
